Embassy of Nepal in Bahrain hosted a Nepal Tourism and Business Networking Event on 13 July 2025
On 13 July 2025, the Embassy of Nepal in Manama, Bahrain, hosted an event on the theme “Nepal Tourism and Business Networking Event” at the Crowne Plaza in Manama. The event aimed to promote Nepal’s tourism and business via networking and engagement with the Bahraini government officials, business leaders, investors, tour/travel companies, journalists and media.
Distinguished dignitaries and prominent business leaders from Bahrain Chamber, Bahrain Businessmen’s Association, Bahrain Small and Medium Enterprises Society along with Bahraini leaders and government officials including MP Mohamed Husain Janahi, Council of Representatives, Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr. Ahmed J. Al-Haiki, Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs, Mr. Fahd AlBinali, Director of Partnerships and Outreach LMRA were present at the event. Also, in attendance was Ms. Anju Sharma Marasini, country manager of Nepal Airlines office in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The gathering included business leaders, investors, academia, journalists, prominent individuals and friends of Nepal making it a gathering of approximately 100 attendees.
During his welcoming speech at the event, Ambassador Tirtha Raj Wagle highlighted on the untapped business opportunities between Bahrain and Nepal. He encouraged the business leaders and private sector representatives present at the event to explore business and investment opportunities between the two countries. The Ambassador also explored on the idea of creating Nepal-Bahrain Business and Friendship Forum. Likewise, he noted the growing interests of the tourists to travel to Nepal from Bahrain and the Gulf region emphasizing the importance of air connectivity. He also underscored Nepal's rich cultural diversity, emphasizing its significance for tourism, recreational activities, trade and investment opportunities.
Ms. Sujana Aryal, Deputy Chief of Mission shared a presentation on “Investment Opportunities and Tourism in Nepal” providing overview of the business, investment and tourism prospects in Nepal and also disseminating the key points of contacts for the ones interested.
The attendees had the opportunity to explore various facets of Nepali arts and culture, such as traditional Nepali musical instruments, traditional woodworks, and other cultural items which were showcased at the event. The guests were also introduced to the diverse tourist attractions in Nepal through the displayed banners and tourism promotional videos including videos promoting Nepali products such as tea, coffee, pashmina, herbs and spices.
As part of the event, guests received thoughtful gifts, including Nepali tea, brochures, tourism photos related to Nepal's tourism. To conclude the evening, a delightful dinner featuring Nepali cuisine was served to all those in attendance. Mr. Deep Raj Joshi, Third Secretary at the Embassy, emceed the program.
