On the auspicious occasion of the 2569th Buddha Jayanti marking the International Day of Vesak, the Embassy of Nepal in the Kingdom of Bahrain in collaboration with the Nepali Community Groups in Bahrain successfully organized a program on Monday, 12 May 2025. The celebration offers an opportunity to reflect on the Buddha's profound journey and teachings, which emphasize compassion, wisdom, and the path to peace.

The program commenced with butter lamp lighting and invocation of blessings. H.E. Mr. Tirtha Raj Wagle, Ambassador of Nepal to the Kingdom of Bahrain, H.E. Mr. Vinod K. Jacob, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain and H.E. Mr. Md. Rais Hasan Sarower, Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Kingdom of Bahrain attended the program. Spiritual Guru Mr. Torche Gurung from Nepal and the Nepali communities in Bahrain were in attendance making it a gathering of a total of approximately 100 attendees.

Ambassador Wagle extended warm welcome to the attendees and remarked on the importance of the Buddha Jayanti celebration. He mentioned about the teachings of Buddha and the development of Lumbini as the World Peace City. H.E. Ambassador Mr. Vinod K Jacob, Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain and H.E. Ambassador Md. Rais Hasan Sarower, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh extended their greetings on the occasion reflecting on the importance of integrating Buddha’s teachings in our lives. On behalf of the Nepali community groups in Bahrain, Mr. Narendra Ghale, the Acting President of Nepali Club Bahrain reiterated the importance of the Buddha Purnima day.

Spiritual Guru/Advisor delivered the Dhamma Pravachan on the teachings of Buddha, transcending time and geography, on dealing with the complexities of life, ethical conduct and the path to peace. The attendees also performed a mindfulness meditation under the guidance of the Spiritual Lama Guru.

The program concluded with a Group Photo and ‘Prasad’ distribution to the attendees. The program was emceed by Ms. Sujana Aryal, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy.
