Embassy of Nepal in Bahrain successfully organized an event on ‘Tourism to Nepal: Mountains and More’

On 24 February 2025, the Embassy of Nepal in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, successfully hosted a Nepal tourism promotion event on the theme ‘Tourism to Nepal: Mountains and More’ at The Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel in Manama. The event aimed to showcase Nepal’s diverse tourism potential and strengthen tourism cooperation between Nepal and Bahrain.

The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Guest of Honour Dr. Ali Hassan Follad, Advisor at the Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority, representing Her Excellency Fatima bintJaffar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism. Other distinguished guests included Members of Parliament H.E. Mr. Abdulla Khalifa Al Romaihi, H.E. Mr. Mohamed Husain Janahi, and Her Excellency Nancy Dinah EllyKhedouri, as well as H.E. Nibras Mohammed Talib, CEO of Labour Market Regulatory Authority, H.E. Shaikh Khaled bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the General Director of VATEL Hotel & Tourism Business School in Bahrain, and Mr. Jehad Ebrahim Amin, Chairman of the Hospitality and Tourism Committee of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Also in attendance at the event were business leaders from the Bahrain Chamber, Bahrain Businesswomen Society, Bahrain Businessmen Association, Bahrain Small and Medium Enterprises Society, Association of Bahrain Travel and Tour Agents, along with representatives from travel agencies, journalists, Nepal travelers, travel enthusiasts, and members of the Nepali community in Bahrain, making a gathering of approximately 100 attendees.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Tirtha Raj Wagle highlighted Nepal’s focus on sustainable tourism, its warm hospitality, rich cultural heritage, and unparalleled adventure opportunities. He emphasized Nepal’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Bahrain, particularly in tourism, and noted the growing interest of tourists from the Gulf region in exploring Nepal’s unique landscapes and cultural experiences.

Dr. Ali Hassan Follad, Advisor at the Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority, commended Nepal’s efforts in promoting tourism and underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

A cultural performance showcasing Nepal’s traditional music and dance captivated the audience along with a video presentation highlighting Nepal’s breathtaking natural beauty and historic sites.

The program featured a presentation by Deputy Chief of Mission Ms. Sujana Aryal, who provided an in-depth overview of Nepal’s tourism attractions, travel plans, and key points of contact for interested visitors.

Guest Speaker Mr. Mohamed Isa, a Bahraini adventurer, author and motivational Speaker, delivered a captivating presentation on the theme ‘Nepal in the Eyes of a Bahraini Adventurer”, sharing exciting insights from his journeys to Nepal, including the Mount Everest Base Camp.

An interactive session provided participants with an opportunity to exchange ideas on tourism collaboration. H.E. Mr. Abdulla Khalifa Al Romaihi, MP, expressed admiration for the presentations on Nepal’s tourism and showed a keen interest in visiting Nepal, recognizing its rich natural beauty and cultural significance.

The event concluded with a delightful dinner buffet, offering a taste of Nepali cuisine, and the distribution of tourism brochures, travel information, and stunning wallpapers depicting Nepal’s scenic landscapes.
